August 3-4, aviation history blasts out of the museums and into the skies as Texas Raiders, a fully restored B-17G Flying Fortress, thunders into Georgetown on her four giant engines. Of the 12,731 B-17s built across the US, only 9 are currently flying—including Texas Raiders, of the Commemorative Air Force. One of the last flying examples of the famous WWII aircraft joins other vintage warbirds at Georgetown Municipal Airport, offering attendees a seldom seen opportunity to see and touch one of history’s most storied heavy bombers. Texas Raiders bristles with authentic weaponry and period-specific equipment.

Tours of the aircraft are offered to the public as is the unique opportunity to ride in the B-17. Beginning Noon Saturday and 10:00 AM on Sunday the public can visit all the aircraft and for a nominal admission and can take on-board tours that include commentary from crew members. WWII veterans and active duty service men and women with their military ID may tour for free. Attendees who want the ultimate Living History Flight Experience can make a reservation now for one of the limited number of 25-minute flights on the aircraft.

The public is invited to come out to tour all the aircraft and talk with their crews at Georgetown Municipal Airport. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 or $20 for a family of up to five members.
